Calling
All Citizens Stop Insane Bush “World War III” Threats Now “But this — we got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel. So I’ve told people that if you’re interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon.” - Bush With today’s White House press conference threat of “World War III” directed against Iran , Russia , and other states, Bush has crossed the line into a new dimension of Hitlerian insanity. These words have long been taboo for presidents, and with good reason: their very mention makes a world catastrophe far more likely. Tragically, that watershed is now behind us. The world will have no trouble in relating today’s psychotic outburst from the White House to Russian President Putin’s statement of yesterday that any military aggression against Iran would be “unacceptable,” and to the firing of a US Patriot missile in Qatar as part of an obvious attempt to provoke Iran. Not just Tehran , but Moscow , Beijing , and other capitals will know that it is they who are being threatened. All federal officials, elected or appointed, must now have only one priority: the immediate impeachment and removal from office of Bush and Cheney, or their removal under the provisions of the XXV Amendment, by reason of criminal insanity. Today’s statement by Bush, an act of incalculable folly, is by itself grounds for impeachment. Those who are not willing to respond should resign, or face immediate primary and general election challenges from anti-war and pro-impeachment candidates. Senator Boxer and Keith Olberman have suggested today that Bush is insane. The survival of our country now requires a nationwide outpouring of protest and denunciation of a madman who is willing to sacrifice our country and our children to his own delusional hallucinations. There is absolutely no proof that Iran is building any nuclear weapon, as the International Atomic Energy Agency continues to point out. Iran is not a threat to the United States , and has never attacked any country. This new crisis, just like the Iraq war, has been cynically manufactured out of nothing by the neocons. Bush’s “World War III” threat may be our last warning before a real global conflagration and world catastrophe.
