Restaurant Slots Filling Fast for Souper Bowl XIII (SANTA FE, NM December 20, 2006) Some of our communitys finest restaurants will spoon up their best with Souper Bowl XIII on Saturday, February 3 from noon to 2:00 PM at the College of Santa Fes Driscoll Fitness Center. Souper Bowl is a soup cook-off and competition for the best soups in Santa Fe. The event will benefit The Food Depot, northern New Mexicos food bank. The Santa Fe New Mexican; Santa Fe Blu 102.9FM; Los Alamos National Bank; Barks & Bubbles; and the Santa Fean Magazine have signed on as gold sponsors, with Ben E. Keith Foods; The Framing Company; Hal Burns Truck & Equipment Services; Mission Linen Supply; and Roller Printing joining the event as a silver sponsor. Century Bank; Dahl Plumbing; John Adams with Quinn Southwest, Southwest Securities; New Mexico Bank and Trust; and Zanios Foods have also pledged their sponsorship support at the bronze level. Aroma Coffee, Honstein Oil and Suzanne Fuqua Accounting have confirmed their sponsorship support. Contact Sherry Hooper at 471-1633, X10 for information on becoming a sponsor. To date, 19 restaurants have confirmed participation in the competition Baleen at Inn & Spa at Loretto, Blue Heron at Sunrise Springs, Brumbys, Café Pasquals, Catamount Bar & Grille, Cowgirl BBQ, Dinner for Two, East Mountain Grill, El Canon, Gelato Benissimo, Jinja Bar & Bistro, Kingston Residence of Santa Fe, La Boca, La Casa Sena, La Plazuela at La Fonda, Le Moynes Landing, RainbowVision Santa Fe, Rio Chama Steakhouse, and Whole Foods Market. Restaurants will compete in the following categories Best Chunky Soup, Best Cream Soup, Best Seafood Soup, Best Vegetarian Soup, and Best Soup. If a restaurant would like to enter the competition, call Hooper at 471-1633, extension 10. Space will allow for participation of no more than 25 restaurants. Tickets will be available in advance at The Food Depot, 1222 Siler Road (beginning January 12) and at the door - $15 for adults and $5 for children 6-12 years of age. Guests will enjoy the festivities - sampling soups from some of Santa Fes finest restaurants thrilling in the competition anticipating silent auction announcements!
